July 2012

   

 

New mission is just started as a Country Representative of German Red Cross in Bangladesh. The main tasks are to represent GRC towards the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) and partners within Red Cross/Red Crescent movement, national authorities, international and national organizations and medias. At the same time managing GRC operations and cooperation activities in the country and pursue an excellent and well established relationship with BDRCS.


October 2011

 

Back in Indonesia, Rico is working with the Yari International School - Padang in preparing an architectural design of new school compound which include several rooms for different functions: administrations, cafeteria, library, 20 classrooms, sport hall, swimming pool as well as landscape architecture etc. Additional to those, he also preparing an architectural design of countryside private residence.


September 2011

 

The mission with Caritas Austria has ended. The task as Head of Mission in a problematic country like Haiti has been a very challenging one. As team leader he managed and coordinated a team of up to 8 international delegates and overviewed a countrywide program with projects like construction of 500 houses, school and orphanage and activities in the field of livelihood, health as well as water and sanitation.

Since June 2011 Mr. Rico Wallenta is an active member of the initiative RedR UK (International charity that provides training and recruitment services for the humanitarian sector, improving emergency response worldwide) http://www.redr.org.uk


November 2010

 

The tasks as a freelance consultant with the International Consulting Service AGEG implemented projects for the International NGO "WELTHUNGERHILFE" in Myanmar have been successfully completed. As the Head of Project he implemented food security and infrastructure projects where 15 schools/cyclone shelters have been constructed by end of August 2010. At the same time, he also provided technical assistances for the implementation of WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene) projects. During this period, Rico Wallenta also involved in initiating the technical working group called "School Discussion Group - SDG", where more than 20 NGOs and construction companies participated regularly for experience's exchange and knowledge sharing on school/cyclone shelter constructions in Myanmar.
